Burgundy Discovery wine tours

Multi Day Exceptional Experience tours

Combine daily wine tasting tours for a wider Burgundy experience and to include cycling or cookery.

For many of our guests, their trip to Burgundy is a unique opportunity to sample the fantastic wine, history and gastronomy of the region. We offer any combination of our one day wine tours, or alternatively include a day of leisurely cycling through the vineyards or a Burgundian cookery class to give you a comprehensive and exceptional experience whilst in Burgundy.

All our multi day tours can be taken on adjacent days or, if you choose, with time in between.

If you wish to extend your time with us and tour for more than 2 days, by adding further combinations of one day tours, this is of course possible subject to availability.

We will also be pleased to recommend some places to stay during your tours.  Please refer to About Burgundy – Accommodation  read more..

Exceptional Experience Wine Tours

We offer a combination of any of our one day wine tours taken over 2 or more days. Touring with us for a multiple of days allows you the opportunity to experience a wider variety of Burgundian wines, countryside and regions.

During 2 days of wine tours you will visit six independent, family Domaines and taste red and white, Regional, Village, Premier cru and Grand Cru wine across a range of vintages. We will taste some top Appellations as well as wines from some of Burgundy’s lesser known villages and vineyards. Appellations tasted may include well-known wines such as Chassagne Montrachet, Puligny Montrachet, Meursault, Nuits St Georges, Vosne Romanee, Chambolle Musigny, as well as hidden secrets such as Monthelie, Santenay, Rully and Givry, together with the excellent wines of the Hautes-Cotes.

The tours can be on consecutive days or, if you prefer, with a break to allow you to spend time in Beaune or the surrounding area and to refuel your energy and refresh your taste buds for more wine tasting.

For 2 days wine touring we recommend a combination of the following:

1 Day Premier tour or Hidden Secrets and 1 Day Grand Premier tour

Over the 2 days you have the opportunity to visit at least 2 of the wine regions of Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits and the lesser known Côte Chalonnaise and Hautes Côtes. You will visit the cellars of 6 different family wineries, and taste all 4 levels of the Burgundy wine Appellations from Regional through Village to Premier Cru and Grand Cru.

In collaboration with local restaurants renowned for their typical Burgundian cuisine, we include a 3 course lunch with wine on both days.

This combination of tours provides an excellent and comprehensive introduction to Burgundy, it’s wines and food.

The combined cost of these tours is €515 per person with the Premier Tour option, or €525 if you choose the Hidden Secrets option.

1 Day Premier tour or Hidden Secrets and 1 Day Gourmet Grand Premier tour.

The Gourmet Grand Premier tour option includes all the elements above, and on one day we add an exceptional 3 course lunch with Sommelier selected wines in Le Bistrot du Bord de l'Eau at the Relais et Château Hostellerie Levernois, whose main restaurant has a Michelin star. This tour combines superb wine tasting with exceptional food.

The combined cost of these tours is €545 per person with the Premier Tour option, or €555 if you choose the Hidden Secrets option.

The addition of our Vintage Experience Tasting makes an excellent complement to these tours, rounding off the day with an additional tasting of some of Burgundy’s older vintages.

This tasting takes place in early evening surrounded by vintage wines at Mon Millesime in Beaune following the last tasting of the day, and lasts around 2 hours and can be added for an additional cost of €150 per person – and is subject to a minimum of 4 persons in total (not necessarily from the same party).

Combinations of other tours are available if you prefer.

Exceptional Experience Wine and Cookery

For those interested in discovering Burgundy through a cook’s perspective, Burgundy Discovery works in collaboration with The Cook’s Atelier to offer cooking classes and workshops.

The Cook’s Atelier is a cooking school, epicurean centre and wine shop housed in a 17th century building in the heart of historic Beaune, founded in 2008 by Marjorie and Kendall, an American mother/daughter duo.

In this unique setting, Marjorie and Kendall conduct cooking classes that are informative and entertaining, a bundle of this and a handful of that. The goal is to demonstrate that cooking can be simple, delicious, and rewarding by making the kitchen an approachable and fun place for everyone. Guests depart the atelier with experiences that will remain in their memories long after the “lesson” is concluded.

The Cook’s Atelier have created a strong network of artisan food producers with whom they work - farmers, organic gardeners, butchers, cheese makers, bakers, beekeepers - both to support small, local businesses as well as to give clients the chance to see (and taste!) the best Burgundy has to offer.

The Cook's Atelier celebrates the connection between the farmer and the cook through hands-on cooking classes, market tours, workshops, seasonal suppers and wine tastings.

Visit www.thecooksatelier.com for full information on the Cookery classes on offer.

A day of cookery can be linked with a day of wine touring from any of our One Day wine tours. Full details of all our daily wine tours can be found at OUR WINE TOURS Daily tours … read more
